Theft Cases

On 25.04.2021 Malbazar police team arrested one person Atabul Md in c/w theft case and retrieved stolen LED TV and the Iron rod used. Upon confessional statement another accused Jamiul Haque was arrested and more stolen articles including two LED TV , one laptop, two wheel rings, cash Rs 1,200/-, some silver ornaments and one scooty was recovered.

Dacoity and Robbery

A remarkable success by Jalpaiguri District Police. On 21st September night a major bus dacoity was occurred in a passenger bus named “UPASANA” with service from Coochbehar to Karimpur, Nadia which was plying with around 40 passengers. On way of journey 07 unknown miscreants boarded on the bus and snatched away 8 mobile phones, approx Rs,1,11,200/- cash and Gold Ornaments. Maynaguri PS Police team with DySP( Crime) took immediate action on it and on the basis of source information three(3) accused persons have been arrested so far. Investigation is on progress.

Significant Investigations

On a tip of secret information Banarhat PS intercepted one vehicle where there was an information that one Milan Tamang of Lebong, Darjeeli g was taking some Adivasi women to Dubai screening on a  false information provided to them. The suspect and the said two women were brought to PS and on examination the women stated that they were assured a lucrative jobs in Dubai and all arrangements were done by said Milan Tamang and they were also given some money. Banarhat PS being assisted by Birpara PS conducted search in the house of Milan Tamang where police found 28 Indian Passport and 02 Nepalese Passport. It is strongly suspected that all the passports are forged ones and used for illegal purposes. The accused confessed that he has sent many women to Dubai. The recovered two women were handed over to their legal guardians. Accused Milan Tamang has been arrested and being produced before the Learned Court.

Recovery Of Mobiles

DDU Unit of Jalpaiguri District Police has recovered the lost cell phones and after proper verifications today the District Superintendent of Police respected Shri Debarshi Dutta IPS has handed over ten cell phones to their rightful owners.

Cyber Cases

The victim Gautam Kr Roy was duped a total amount of Rs 10,899/- on 01.11.2021. The victim was in need of loan and he tried to contact a ln unknown number provided in facebook. Later he was asked to install Anydesk app, and in good faith he complied to the instructions provided by the miscreant and later found that a total amount of Rs 10,899/- was debited from his account without his knowledge.
Cyber PS,Jalpaiguri team took quick intervention and finally suceeded in refunding a total amount of Rs 10,098/- back into the victim's account.

Recovery Of Mobile 05.03.23

A Samsung smart phone went missing from Karbala TE on 31/01/2023, with the help of DDU Unit under Jalpaiguri District Police , ASI Jatindranath Barman of Banarhat Police Station recovered the phone and handed it over to the rightful owner today on 05th March 2023 after verifying the correct information.

Jalpaiguri District Police organised a program under the banner of "Pratyarpan" at Jalpaiguri Police Line Conference Hall. Shri Khandbahale Umesh Ganpat, IPS, SP, Jalpaiguri, Shri Sandip Sen, WBPS, Addl. SP(HQ), Jalpaiguri and other police officers handed over total 102 missing recovered cell phones to rightful owners.

Jalpaiguri District Police organized an event titled "Pratyarpan" at the Jalpaiguri Police Line Conference Hall. Shri Sandip Sen, WBPS, Addl. Cyber Cases 01.01.24

*Recovered the money lost in online fraud*

A complaint on 05/11/23 revealed that Mr Nabin Khatri, stationed at Binnaguri Military Station, paid Rs. 1,00,000/- via UPI on 14.08.2023 for an iPhone. However, after the payment, he neither received the ordered iPhone nor received responses from the unknown seller, who began avoiding calls. Realizing he had been deceived, Mr. Khatri reported the incident.

The Jalpaiguri Cyber PS team, led by Inspector in Charge Shri Bikram Thapa, conducted a meticulous inquiry. Successfully, the Jalpaiguri Cyber Crime PS team recovered and refunded the entire defrauded amount of Rs. 1,00,000/- to the victim's bank account.

Cyber Case 03.01.24

*Jalpaiguri Cyber Crime P.S. Success Story*

Complainant:** Abalindu Sarkar, a dedicated teacher from Rajadanga PS- Dhupguri, Dist- Jalpaiguri.

*Nature of Complaint:*

Between 12th September to 17th September, 2023, Mr. Sarkar experienced unauthorized transactions totaling Rs. 35,000 in his bank account, a victim of AEPS fraud.

*Swift Action:*

The Jalpaiguri Cyber Crime PS team, recognizing the severity of the issue, promptly initiated a comprehensive inquiry.

Under the vigilant supervision of Inspector-in-Charge Sri Bikram Thapa, our Cyber Crime PS team exhibited unwavering determination. Today, we are pleased to announce the successful recovery and full refund of the entire duped amount of Rs. 35,000 to Mr. Abalindu Sarkar's bank account.

On 9/07/23, a complaint from Abhirup Sharma revealed a fraudulent call. He paid Rs.19,300 to an HDFC Bank account for clothes, realizing later that he was duped. Jalpaiguri Cyber Crime PS swiftly investigated, refunding Rs.19,300 to Abhirup's bank account. Kudos to the Cyber Crime PS team for their prompt action!

Mobile Phone Returned 19.02.24
